YOUR ADVENT POSTING PLAN, ONE WEEK AT A TIME

Four Sundays, four themes, and about three posts a week. Here's a simple rhythm one volunteer can keep all season.

Updated

Advent is the easiest season of the year to plan, because the calendar plans it for you. There are four Sundays before Christmas, and each one has a theme: hope, peace, joy, and love. If your page follows those four words, you already have a month of content.

You don't need to post every day. About three posts a week, done well, beats seven rushed ones.

The weekly rhythm

Use the same three slots every week, so you're never staring at a blank screen.

  1. Tuesday or Wednesday: the theme. Post the week's verse graphic (hope, peace, joy, or love) and a caption that says what the word means for someone having a hard December.
  2. Thursday or Friday: the invite. Tell people what happens Sunday and when. Mention the candle lighting. Families love it.
  3. Saturday night or Sunday morning: the reminder. A short "See you tomorrow" story with the service time.

Before the first Sunday

  • Announce that Advent starts. A simple "Advent starts Sunday" post the week before does a lot of work. Many people don't know what Advent is, so say it in one line: four weeks of getting ready for Christmas.
  • Pin your Christmas Eve service times once you have them. You'll point back to that post all month.
  • Pick your look. Set up your church's colors and logo once on your brand kit, and every post you download can match.

Keep it human

Graphics carry the message, but a photo of your actual sanctuary, your actual Advent wreath, or your actual kids' choir rehearsal is what people stop for. Mix one real photo in each week if you can.

Reply to comments, even with a short "So glad you're coming!" Conversations show your posts to more people, and they make a newcomer feel seen.

Grab the season

Every Advent post in the library comes with a caption and a suggested day to post it. Start with the Advent season page for this year's dates, or look for a ready-made Postle Pack to download the whole set at once.
